RESIDENCIES PROGRAM
The Public Creation Residencies Program brings artists into WWCDC’s Temple Studio for 1 and 2 week residencies of focused work time, free of charge.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must propose a use that involves movement-based research, dance-making, choreographic development, physical exploration, or another practice that reasonably requires a dance-specific studio.
Residents may use their studio time for class planning and phrase building, but may not hold profit-generating classes during their residency time.
AWARDING PROCESS
Creation Residencies are awarded on a lottery system. This means no panel bias, no proving your worth, no competing with your artistic peers, and no hours spent perfecting an application–just a simple statement of intended use.
TIMELINE
Application pool opens on August 1st through August 30th, 2026, and residencies are awarded on September 1st to 8 randomly selected applicants.
There are no fees to apply.
