WINTER INTENSIVE ’24

We are thrilled to announce our WHIM Winter Intensive ’24, Saturday, December 14, 2024 – Wednesday, December 18, 2024, in Seattle WA designed for pre-professional and professional dancers.

Spend five days immersed in technique, improvisation, repertory, and partnering.
Dancers will experience the creative approaches unique to Whim W’Him while working with Artistic Director Olivier Wevers, and Whim W’Him dancers and Dance Center faculty. We are thrilled to have guest choreographer Cameron Fraser-Monroe joining our faculty for this program. Participants will be able to experience Cameron’s unique movement language, influenced by his experience as a member of the Tla’amin First Nation and training in ballet and contemporary dance.

Designed for pre-professional and professional dancers, participating artists will gain tools to serve and develop their creative practice and development as individual artists. In addition to work in the studio, participants will have seminars with artistic staff and dancers that will focus on preparing for auditions, freelance work, and working with a company. Participants will also be able to schedule one-on-one meetings with Whim W’Him Company Manager & Director of Education Karl Watson to review their audition portfolios.

Whim W’Him believes strongly in the power of individuality in artistry and offers this program as a platform for dancers to build further confidence in their own artistry.

• Deposits are due Monday, November 4th, 2024 ($200 non-refundable)

TUITION

$875 – payable via PayPal (Links will be sent to accepted applicants).

• Housing is not provided but applicants will be given information for finding housing upon acceptance.
• There is one housing scholarship available for provided housing in a studio apartment.
• Limited scholarships are available for artists in need of financial support. We also offer scholarship funds for BIPOC dancers.
• Please fill out our Financial Aid Application Form and/or fill out our Work/Study Application Form.
• A $200 non-refundable deposit will be due by Monday, November 4th, 2024 to reserve your spot. Remaining tuition will be due Tuesday November 26th, 2024.
