CHOREOGRAPHER’S NOTES

by the choreographers in collaboartion with Victoria Farr Brown

here at the edge for a while

“You will be asked to go back, further back than far enough. Keep going, keep on, pull at the thread to unravel, to unknot, until you find your way. Things might go upside for a while, the room will rearrange itself, you will lose track of time, or time will lose track of you, stay with it. Whatever may be at the end of that cord… When you find it – and you will know when you do: have a seat, lean in, listen to what is being said. Then, not a moving on, but a traveling through.

In the end,
all this is to say:
Maybe solitude was its own kind of limit (it turns out, your arms can only reach so far on their own).”

Notes by Emilie Leriche

Still

In our world, intimacy, the vital energy between us, is vanishing.
The stage brings us back to a living, breathing forest. The dancers return to the intimacy of primal creatures, to the water, soil, insects, plantlife, and mycelium that connect them, humming, pullulating, teeming, throbbing. Growing, decaying, renewing.
Still, in the sense of complete, but never static. Still in the sense of still here.

Notes by Victoria Farr Brown

The Tower

“The Tower” draws from the magical world of Tarot, exploring the power and necessity of collapse in the process of growth and rebirth. Like a phoenix rising from ash, the work embraces destruction as a sacred turning point, an alchemical moment where what falls away makes room for something more luminous to emerge. Rooted in mystery and intuition, the piece suggests that unseen forces may be just as real, if not more so, than the structures we call reality. In this work, FLOCK centers the energies of enduring hope, revealing how resilience, connection, and quiet magic enable us to thrive and grow even within chaos.
