SUBMISSION DEADLINE – JUNE 15, 2016
Whim W’Him dancers, under the artistic direction of Olivier Wevers, seek choreographers to create new dance works for the company’s third “Choreographic Shindig 2017.” Selected choreographers will be invited to create original dances with the Whim W’Him dancers. Choreographers share three to four weeks residency, which culminates in eight public performances in Seattle September 2017.
We are offering an opportunity for emerging and established choreographers to develop works on our dancers. The dancers will be involved in selecting the choreographers for the residency, which culminates with performances of the new creations. This approach gives the dancers a voice in curating the program, becoming fully involved in a new aspect of the artistic process.
Past choreographers: Austin Diaz, Jonathan Campbell, Lauren Edson, Joseph Hernandez, Maurya Kerr, Joshua L. Peugh, Ihsan Rustem
